About Lewehuis

At Lewehuis, we believe that a home is more than a space - it is a feeling.

Rooted in simplicity and inspired by natural form, our pieces are designed to bring quiet character into everyday living. Each item reflects a balance between raw texture and refined design, creating objects that feel both grounded and intentional.

At the heart of Lewehuis is a deeper belief - that light carries meaning. As a Christian-founded brand, we are inspired by the idea of bringing light into spaces, not only through design, but through the atmosphere a home creates. Light represents peace, warmth, and presence - something we believe every home should hold.

We are drawn to materials that speaks for themselves - soft tones, organic shapes, and imperfect finishes that add depth without overwhelming a space. Our collections are curated to complement a slower, more mindful way of living.

Lewehuis is not about excess. It is about choosing pieces that last, that settle into your home, and that become part of your daily rhythm.

Our Philosophy

We value:

  • Simplicity - design that feels effortless
  • Authenticity - natural textures over perfection
  • Purpose - creating pieces that carry meaning
  • Timelessness - design that endures beyond trends

Every product is selected with intention, to bring calm, warmth, and light into your space.

Our Approach

We focus on creating a cohesive aesthetic - where light, material, and form work together. Whether it's a statement vase or a subtle decorative piece, each item is made to stand on it's own while still belonging to a greater whole.

Lewehuis

About the Artist

I am Carla Classen, a South African designer inspired by creation, natural form, and the quiet beauty found in simplicity. My work is shaped by a deep appreciation for what is formed over time — raw textures, intentional design, and pieces that carry meaning beyond their function.

This way of creating is deeply rooted in my journey. During my high school years, I found my foundation in Jesus Christ — a relationship that continues to guide both my life and my work today. Around that same season of life, I was drawn to creativity and went on to study teaching for Grades 10–12, completing my BEd degree with Visual Arts as one of my subjects. That experience shaped how I see design — not only as something expressive, but something intentional and meaningful.

It was also through church that I met my husband, and today we are blessed with two beautiful children. Family, faith, and creativity are all closely woven together in my life, naturally finding their way into everything I create.

My faith remains at the center of it all. I believe faith is not always constant — there are seasons where it feels distant — but when it is present, it is one of the most powerful gifts we have been given.

My hope is that through each piece, people would feel the light that Jesus brings. That in some small way, these creations reflect our purpose — to be light in a dark world, bringing warmth, peace, and a quiet reminder of something greater into every home.
